Fox Class News (Year 3 & 4)

21/06/23- We have had lots of fun this week making our own Maths games! We have included lots of aspects of our Maths, such as money and fractions. Some of us made new versions of games such as Monopoly and others made up a brand new game.

07/06/2023- We have had a lovely day today at the River Stour Educational Trust Centre. First we went pond dipping to find new and exciting creatures. We were able to identify lots of life within the river! We also went on a boat ride and were able to operate the lock too. We then had a quiz where we had to search for features around the site. We practiced water safety and working as a team. A great day in the sunshine!

25/05/23- Thinking about Mrs Nichols’ assembly all about what we are going to aspire to be when we grow up, we have been thinking about the skills we need to help us and how we can apply these to our learning today.

05/05/2023- Celebrating King Charles III’s coronation! We had a brilliant day, full of party games, royal activities and a feast fit for a king! We even wrote the King a letter to congratulate him on his special day.

05/05/2023- Celebrating the coronation at Forest school.

21/04/2023- We have been thinking about resilience in class and how to keep going and never give up when things get tricky. We practiced this important skill with a card tower! It was super tricky, but lots of us didn’t give up and even made quite a tall tower.

23/03/2023- Forest school was particularly muddy today, but we showed some amazing teamwork skills!

10/03/2023- Snow, in March!!

20/02/2023- We have had some lovely sessions with Delana from the Christian Youth Outreach group. She has been coming in to teach us all about Jesus ‘a-cross the world’. We have had the opportunity to learn about Christianity within different cultures, make a cross to symbolise this and try new food too! We have absolutely loved these sessions.

06/02/2023- We are really enjoying Forest School this term!

31/01/23- We joined our friends in Squirrel Class at St Giles and went on a trip to Gainsborough House. We enjoyed seeing all of beautiful portraits and we learnt lots about how they were made, which we will be applying in our Art lessons. Can you recognise anyone in some of the portraits? We think some of them look familiar!

25/01/23- We enjoyed our work on gifts and talents so much that we wanted to make a display on our classroom door that represented us. We each coloured in our handprints and wrote on them things that make us special and unique. Added together, they make a beautiful masterpiece!

18/01/23- We have been working on all different things for ‘Energy Saving Week’ and have come up with some ways we can help to save energy!

12/01/23- For our first full week back at school for 2023, we have been thinking about Miss Gilbranch’s assembly all about our gifts and talents. We imagined we were given a door- like in Encanto- and thought about which of our special ‘gifts’ would be behind our door.

20/12/22- We roasted marshmallows and made s’mores on the playground with Miss Elvin, Mrs Digby and Miss Morton on our last day of term!

16/12/22- All dressed up in our Christmas jumpers for Christmas dinner day!

15/12/22- Having lots of fun at this year’s pantomime- Robin Hood!

07/12/22- Well done Foxes on an amazing Christmas concert!

05/12/22- A beautiful advent wreath made, just like the one we saw in assembly.

28/11/22- Finding fun ways to learn our times tables!

25/11/22- An exciting assembly from iRock!

23/11/22- Thinking about gases in Science... what makes our drinks fizzy!

15/11/22- Fun at Forest School!

- Miss Elvin & Mrs Digby

21/07/22- End of year party! Well done on an amazing year Fox Class. Wishing you all a relaxing summer full of fun :)

20/07/22- End of year ‘awards’ in class!

19/07/2022- Trying to keep cool in the extreme heat wave!

20/06/22- We are making sure we take pride in our presentation as we learn all about bar charts!

14/06/22- We really enjoyed doing some planting this week. We look forward to watching our sunflowers, tomatoes, sweetcorn and runner beans grow!

27/05/22- Fox Class enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s jubilee with the rest of the school. We created some lovely photos, had a fun street party with party food and played party games at lunchtime, including riding in the Queen’s carriage and taking a royal portrait! Congratulations Queen Elizabeth!

12/05/22 Fox Class really enjoyed their trip to Layer Marney Tower today. We had fun climbing up to the top of the tower, going to a Tudor school, dancing and trying Tudor food!

15/03/22 The children were lucky enough to have a zoom call with Dermot O’Leary to discuss his new children’s book! They even had a drawing lesson with the illustrator of the book and drew some amazing pictures of Toto the Ninja Cat!

28/02/22 Fox class thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Harwich, where we explored the lifeboat museum and the fort!

17/12/21 Enjoying our end of term Christmas party! Merry Christmas everyone, and a happy new year!

15/12/21 Fox class had lots of fun at the Pantomime! Kali said “it was a very funny show”

We went outside in the gazebo and ‘exploded’ some of our volcanos!

01/11/21- Some amazing half term projects! The children had homework over the half term to make a volcano, using the knowledge and facts that we have learnt in our Geography lessons. What amazing imaginations we have!

Thinking about our earthquake learning, we became builders and designed the perfect building to withstand an earthquake over two ‘tectonic plates’. We found that the heaviest building, that was wide and had a large surface area rather than tall, worked the best!

We have been reading 'The Butterfly Lion' by Michael Morpurgo and thinking, in teams, about how we can persuade Bertie's dad to keep the lion cub. After discussing, we used our persuasive techniques and managed to persuade ‘Bertie’s dad’ to keep the lion cub!

A big welcome to the new 2021/2022 Fox class! smiley
