Owl Class News (Year 5 & 6)
Week Beginning Monday 20th March 2023
Owls had a fantastic morning watching 'A Midsummers Night Dream' performed by the Shakespeare company. We welcomed St Peters School, St Giles and Wethersfield too!






























Week Beginning Monday 13th March
Owls had a fantastic trip to the Cambridge Mosque. They really enjoyed learning about how Muslims worship and seeing the beautiful mosque and botanical gardens.

Week Beginning Monday 20th and 27th February 2023
Owls have had a great start to the new half term. We have started reading Anne Frank's Diary and we are learning about the Early Islamic Civilisation in History. In Maths we are finishing our Fractions, Decimals and Percentages learning.
The children have had two visits so far from Delana, who is teaching them about Religion around the world. They have visited Australia and North India so far!
We have been practicing our French speaking skills in class too!

Owls have loved forest school this week and really enjoyed the experiences they have over at Bakers Field.
Week beginning 9th January 2023
It has been a good start to the Spring Term in Owl Class. We have started reading 'Pig Heart Boy' and the children wrote some fantastic letters from Cameron.
We finished our History learning by creating some knowledge organisers about the Aztecs.
We also wrote pledges to Mr James Cleverly and two children from the class went to meet Mr Cleverly and take our pledges to persuade him to fund the well needed 'Education Cannot Wait' fund.

Owl Class have been working hard practicing their singing for the School Concert. They have been learning about decimals in maths and working on their memory with some fun memory games. It has been a busy week!









Week Beginning 14th November 2022
Owls have had another busy week! They have written diary entries from an 'inanimate object' and next week they will be writing a diary entry as Stanley. They have been learning how to divide using short division and long division. We learnt about coding in Computing and they enjoyed exploring Scratch. We have also been practicing our songs for the Christmas concert.

Owls wrote some fantastic Newspaper Reports about 'Kissin Kate Barlow' shooting the sheriff.
They wrote some lovely Rememberance prayers for our service at the church.















Week Beginning 31st October 2022
Owls have enjoyed their first week back after the half term.
They have been finishing off their work in art based on Canaletto's work. They have started writing a Newspaper Report about Kissin' Kate Barlow. We are learning about Multiplication and Division in maths.
Week Beginning 17th October
Owls really enjoyed their visit from the Wonderdome and continued their learning about Earth and Space.
The owls were presented with their Bibles from St Andrew's church. and helped the Otters to think about people that are special to them that they could prayer for in our Reverend Assembly.
Week Beginning 3rd October
Owls had a Road Safety presentation and practiced how to cross the road safely. They produced some great Non-Chronological Reports about 'The Yellow-Spotted Lizard'. They also wrote some great letters to 'Mom' from Stanley from our class book Holes.
Welcome to the Autumn Term Owls!
Owls have started the year really well and are settling in well at school. We have been enjoying our class book 'Holes'. They have been learning about place value in maths. We have started learning about map skills in geography and electricity in science. I have been impressed with their writing and their art skills. In RE we are thinking about Creation and the difference between Christian beliefs and Science. They have also been learning about Earth and Space!


















Owls would like to say a huge farewell and good luck to our fabulous year 6’s. we wish them all the best on their new adventures - we will miss you.
Owls have been sewing away the last few weeks and have created these amazing fish. We have learned how the running stitch, back stitch and blanket stitch as well as how to sew a button on.
Sports day 2021
Welcome to Owl class MOCKTAIL BAR! We created our very own Limited Edition Mocktails, and then designed persuasive posters to promote them.
We studied the work of Albrecht Durer this term and created our own line drawings of praying hands.
Owl class have been busy with their maths this term. We made irregular polygons with sticks in Baker's field and 3D shapes with marshmallows.
This week Owl Class have been really busy.
This week it has been National Shakespeare Week.
We have been learning all about William Shakespeare and the plays he wrote. We enjoyed listening to Romeo and Juliet and made masks for the Capulet ball.
Next week we are looking forward to seeing the Young Shakespeare Company perform Twelfth Night.
We have also been working on our fitness in PE. We are trying to build up our stamina and strength by completing circuits of activities. It was exhausting but fun!
Welcome Back Owl Class!
Owl class have been brilliant this week. They have settled really well into class and have enjoyed getting to know one another again.
They enjoyed playing with all of the new playground equipment this week.
Owl class drew around their hands and decorated them to show togetherness and teamwork...



We have been learning about Islamic art. We made geometric Islamic patterns...
After Mrs Nichols Assembly we made pictures of a starry sky....
